Program Director Position PDF

Position Overview: This position is responsible for strategic, visionary and operational leadership of the organization’s programs and program staff under the purview of the industry’s nine guiding principles, therapeutic milieu and inclusive / racially just practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planning, development, and implementation of organizational programs, in accordance with agency strategic planning, current best practices and contract / funder expectations.
  • Monitor progress to outcomes as identified in strategic and annual plan, and evaluate on impact, efficacy and cost in program evaluation.
  • Modify and adjust programs, processes and/ or infrastructure where necessary to assure successful outcomes.
  • Stay current with new research and trends in the field to inform program development, execution and improvements.
  • Develop a plan to achieve and maintain comprehensive and systemic youth engagement including an active Youth Advisory Board, youth participation in the board of directors, staff interviews, advocacy, tabling, speaking and outreach activities and youth surveys/feedback.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in social services or related and 4+ years of experience (see bullets 3 and 4).
  • At least 2 years of staff / team management.
  • Experience working with youth who are homeless, youth of color, LGBTQ, sexually exploited, pregnant/parenting.
  • Direct service and leadership experience in most of the following: housing programs (shelter, transitional, supportive), family reunification, nine guiding principles, therapeutic milieu, youth engagement, healing informed / trauma responsive care through the lens of racial and gender equity.
  • Must have a dependable vehicle, a current and valid MN state driver’s license, proof of insurance and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must clear a background check.

Overnight (Awake) Youth & Family Advocate - Gloria's Place

Position Overview: This position is responsible for providing direct services to parenting youth and families that are coping with crises while operating within a framework of agency philosophy and goals. The ideal candidate will have the skills and compassion necessary for building the capacity of youth and families toward increasing their overall sense of well-being. This position works 10 hour shifts on a rotating 7 day on 7 days off schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care, supervision, guidance and milieu therapy to youth
  • Regular and consistent bed checks
  • Maintaining case management
  • Provide screenings for services, administer assessments and intake services, document and report abuse (when necessary), and complete required file work for youth entering the shelter program


Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience working with youth in a similar setting or Bachelor’s/AA degree in human services
    related field.
  • Bi-lingual (preferred). Must clear a background check and have ability to demonstrate
    commitment to diversity

Youth & Family Advocate (full-time and on-call)

Position Overview: This position is responsible for providing direct services to youth and families that are coping with crises while operating within a framework of agency philosophy and goals. The ideal candidate will have the skills and compassion necessary for building the capacity of youth and families toward increasing their overall sense of well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care, supervision, guidance and milieu therapy to youth.
  • Develop specialized program plans for youth.
  • Co-facilitate and lead group sessions with youth.
  • Provide screenings for services, administer assessments and intake services, document and report abuse (when necessary), and complete required file work for youth entering the shelter program.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or final year of B.A. program in psychology, social work, or related human services field and/or two years of experience working with youth.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (preferred). Bi-lingual (preferred).
  • Must clear a background check.
